Review the eight principles of Interpersonal Communication as they are explained on pages 28 through 33.
Write an essay of at least 400 words that describes personal examples of each principle as it applied to your
life. Make sure each example is personal experience that you feel comfortable sharing with college colleagues
and is not too personal and private.
You need to select a different personal example for each of the eight principles. Carefully explain how the
personal example fits the particular principle… for instance… for principle two: Interpersonal Communication is
Irreversible, I could tell the story about how when having an argument with a friend I made fun of his nose
knowing he was very sensitive about that… and I could then say how this affected our friendship, and he never
really forgot that, even though he sort of forgave me… I wished I could take it back… but I couldn't.
Be sure you have enough description and explanation so that I can clearly see you understand the principle as
you apply it to your personal example.
