Problem Statement

Write one Research Problem Statement:
READ: the problematic Problem Statement found in the Dawidowicz article in a document. It can be found at the top of page 13 in the article. “Faculty members at San Francisco’s Bay University are not using technology in their classroom that students at other schools indicate they like. Research indicates college students at other schools enjoy using twitter and blogs with their classes, but faculty members at San Francisco’s Bay University do not use it. Why they are not using it is the reason this study will be conducted and the focus of the study. This study will look at why faculty members do not use that technology.”

REWRITE IT: so that it meets criteria for a strong problem statement by rewriting it to indicate a RESEARCH PROBLEM rather than a local problem. DO NOT DO ADDITIONAL RESEARCH OR ADD ADDITIONAL DETAILS. Simply change the problem from a local problem to a PhD RESEARCH PROBLEM.

FILL IN a total of six revised problem statements on the attached one page-alignment tool by:

1. READING: the Dawidowicz (2016) article, focusing on distinguishing between educational problems and research problems. Review the handout on Social-Educational Problems and Research Problems. For each of the social-emotional problems presented, select the two research problems that you believe are appropriate selections for that social-emotional problem.
2. Review the media on Social-Educational Problems and Research Problems.You will find the same three social-educational problems with three proposed research topics for each social-educational problem. Review the resources and modify the Alignment Tool as required.

3. On the Alignment Tool (AT) Excel document, write the three social-educational problems discussed in the Social-Educational Problems and Research Problems Tree in Column B in the AT rows. Write the two problem statements you determined are best for each educational problem in Column C (a total of six problem statements).
