In this assignment, students must critically analyze the web presence of a professional sport organization using theories and concepts learned during the course. Assignment: Visit the official web site of any big four (NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL) professional sports team and consider the following questions: • Examine the home page and note all the corporate advertisers you see. Are they primarily local businesses or national businesses? Are any of them companies whose products you buy? Do their sponsors influence your perception(s) of the organization as a whole? • Is the team active on social media? Does the franchise have links to their various accounts and are they easily accessible? • Find a community relations event that the team has scheduled or has completed and describe it. • Find the link to buy tickets. Describe the ticket price structure; be complete as possible, making sure to include location pricing, season ticket pricing, “premium game” seat pricing, etc. Use images when appropriate to better illustrate your findings. • Describe anything on the site especially for kids.
