Objective: Explain the concepts of operations management and project management, then identify their components and the benefits of using operations management and project management techniques in a business.

Introduction: Businesses use established operations management and project management tools and techniques to ensure effective operational outcomes. Together, these tools and techniques allow management to successfully oversee and lead business operations, effectively carrying out an organization's strategy. This essay will give you the opportunity to illustrate the relationship among operations, the supply chain, management and operational elements in a business organization.

Deliverable: The essay for this lesson is required to be a minimum of 750 words that clearly demonstrate your understanding of the activity. Essays should have a clear introduction, thesis statement and conclusion, written in APA format (APAstyle.org).

Step 1: Read the following questions/prompts, and use what you have learned about this lesson's objective to summarize your responses.
• Describe the elements of operations management, and how and why it is used. Provide specific business examples.
• What is project management and how does project management further an organization's corporate strategy?
• What can happen to business success if an organizational supply chain is not in sync via an effective project management plan? Provide examples.

• Write a 750-word paper that addresses the questions/prompts in Step 1.
• Include a clear introduction, discussion and conclusion.
