Description
- Choose an example of propaganda. This can either be a single example (a single WWI poster, for example) or a small set of two or three—NO MORE THAN THREE—closely related examples (a small group of posters from WWI).
- Perform a literature review of propaganda analysis scholarship that is related to your example, using a maximum of three sources that were assigned in this class. (In other words, outside research will be required.) For example, if you focus on WWI posters, you would need to find secondary sources that focus on posters as propaganda, or sources that focus on WWI propaganda.
- Apply these concepts to an original analysis of your chosen example of propaganda, using additional outside sources as appropriate.
Conclude by reflecting on what your research means for propaganda and social control. Suggest additional areas of future research.
