Prose Analysis

In a minimum of four paragraphs, analyze the style and tone in relation to the purpose in the following excerpt. Consider some of the following in your analysis: purpose/message, figurative language, organization, and effectiveness. Quote specific examples from the text as evidence to support your assertions. Writing a Prose Analysis Essay You want to end up with four body paragraphs: Body Paragraph #1: Introduce the passage you will be analyzing by identifying the author and title. Then provide the following information: a. Identify the form of organization (What type of essay style is it? Is it narrative, argument, etc.) b. Establish the overall tone and mood and level of writing (formal, semi-formal, or informal.) c. Sum up the overall message in one or two sentences. Be sure to use your own words and do not directly quote from the author. Try to incorporate all salient points.
