Choose a quantitative dissertation related to education and onlin" rel="nofollow">ine learnin" rel="nofollow">ing with respect to samplin" rel="nofollow">ing, generalizability and in" rel="nofollow">inference possible based on the research.
Some of the questions to consider in" rel="nofollow">include:
Why did the researchers choose to study the particular participants they did? What were the logistical and other limitations they faced in" rel="nofollow">in tryin" rel="nofollow">ing to study that group?
What type of samplin" rel="nofollow">ing technique was chosen, why was it chosen, and what implications did that choice have on the in" rel="nofollow">interpretation and conclusions possible from the
study? What recommendations would you give to the researchers? Consider the followin" rel="nofollow">ing: Who was likely to have been in" rel="nofollow">included in" rel="nofollow">in the samplin" rel="nofollow">ing frame, and who not? Who was
likely to have responded, and who not? How might the results be different if those who were not covered, or did not respond, had a chance to participate? Identify the
direction of any potential bias�and thin" rel="nofollow">ink concretely about how bias might affect the conclusions that can be draw from the data.
