Develop a role-play for a commitment hearing that illustrates the consequences of not following the selection process. My Role is the youth Guardian The following content is interactions between individuals and interactions through a commitment hearing. Through out this presentation you will be introduced to several different roles that where involved in the incident that lead to the need for such hearing. Ultimately, this presentation should provide enough clear and precise information to warn for the adherence to the APA ethical standards. The roles presented will be a narration of the events through the hearing from the psychologists point of view as well as the individual affected and the judges point of view as well and in this particular case as there is direct concern for the treatment of an individual under the age of consent the presentation will also present the events from the point of view of the parent or guardian of the youth in question. As such in this particular scenario a youth identifying as Hispanic within the United States has been seeing a male psychologist that identifies as non-Hispanic Caucasian for recommended reasons which include disruptive behaviors and depression according to the child's parent or guardian. In this case the behavior is only occurring in the home. Recent changes in the life of the child would include the death of a close family member and the birth of another child. When the child begins seeing the psychologist the behaviors begin to fade and no longer happen. However, the mother is noticing bruising and various pieces of clothing having holes in it. The mother does not think anything of this right away and does not report it. After a short period of time the child's behaviors begin to worsen and there are attempts at suicide. The mother confronts the child regarding this and it is stated that the psychologist is abusive throughout the sessions and calls her derogatory terms based on her gender and ethnicity. The mother stops all contact with the psychologist and reports this to various enforcement agencies. As such an investigation is done and it is determined that there will need to be a commitment hearing based on the events as evidence did show reason for such events to occur.
