Public Advocacy Ad/PSA Analysis

For Project 2, you will be designing your own advocacy ad or video public service announcement. To help prepare for the creation of your own original ad/PSA, find an example of an existing ad or PSA and analyze it by responding to the following questions. Your found ad/PSA does not need to deal with the same topic you will be arguing in Project 2. Nevertheless, observe how the rhetorical appeals and visual techniques
employed by the creators of the published ad/PSA contribute to its effectiveness.
What is the argument presented?
Who is the audience targeted?
What is the author/creator trying to persuade the audience to do?
What design principles are used? Comment on the use of images, space and layout, colors, type and font
size, sound, or any other factor that is important to note concerning the design of the ad or PSA.
What rhetorical strategies are used to appeal to the audience? Comment on the use of logical appeal
(claims, reasons, and evidence), ethical appeal (being fair-minded and truthful), and emotional appeal
(colors, images, the connotation of words).
Is it effective? Does it work in persuading its audience? Why or why not?
