Putting It all Together

Carefully Read this article from 2/1/16 in the NY times (just checked, the link works): http://www.nytimes.com/2016/02/02/technology/yahoo-employee-ranking-system-lawsuit.html?_r=0 If the link doesn’t work search for it via: “nytimes yahoo performance review 2/1/16” Some companies (e.g.: GE under Jack Welch) were known to cull (get rid of) a fixed percentage of the their weakest* every year. This was not always seen as wise. At GE performance meant results and approach. Results with bodies along the way and you were out. Yahoo, however, appears, some say, to be rigging/faking the system. Others may not agree but many have said they have too many employees. Q1-a: What do you think yahoo is doing? (Remember, build off of a cite/ref: agree, disagree, or extend). Q1-b: Congrats on your new job at Yahoo: As a new CEO/Head of HR, what would you advise? Leadership and management are two different things. That point is not often discussed or covered. Q2-a) How does leadership differ from management? Do some research on this one (use two good cites/refs!)]: Q2-b) What will you do to continue to develop yourself and others as leaders (or would-be leaders) as opposed to managers?   Briefly research and share on "HRIS":   1.Very briefly based on an article, what is standing in the way / how could it be better? (regarding HRIS systems and their role in unleashing (or not) productivity   2) Find and name two (~top) HRIS systems' (branded software) names
