Quality Function Deployment is a methodology used to ensure that customers’ requirements are met
throughout the product design process and in the design and operation of production systems. A set of
matrices is used to relate the choice of the customer to technical features and production planning and control requirements. These matrices are referred to as the House of Quality. It is important to learn and understand
these matrices and what they represent.
Refer to Scott’s Fitness Center problem set - Pages 144-145 of the textbook. Complete the House of Quality matrix and answer the three questions of the problem set. Complete the diagram in an Excel spreadsheet. You
can create your own, or you can edit the sample one provided for you (xlsx).
When answering the questions, be sure to expand upon your answers and make solid connections to Week 3
