Quantitative report using SPSS data
How does class impact voting behavior? What to include in your assessment: Your research report should include the following: • an introduction; • an overview of your quantitative research design and methods (this should be brief and no longer than 200-250 words, as you already covered this in your presentation; • a literature review (based on the topic you chose as a group); • an analysis of your data using SPSS (please relate your findings to arguments, concepts, and theories highlighted in your literature review). You should use some graphs, crosstabs and tables to illustrate your points; • a conclusion (please sum up your main arguments based on the discussion in the main body of your work); • a bibliography (only list sources in the bibliography if you have used them in the main body of the assessment); • an Appendix (this must include a copy of your survey). You may include some additional information in the Appendix, however, if it is important the information should be in the main body of the text. Only use the appendix on rare occasions and when necessary.
write a 2,000-word Research report. Your report is based on your group questions and the data you collected from your survey.
Carrying out your survey:
After receiving your feedback and marks for your previous assessment, you must carry out your survey in the same groups as your previous assessment. You may use online surveys (for more guidance see below). If you do, you must use Qualtrics. The University has a licence, please contact the module Coordinator and they will sort you out with access to the software.
Once you have received feedback for your group survey, please amend the survey questions accordingly and seek final approval from your seminar tutor before by week 24. Notes on how to conduct the survey can be found in the ‘Conducting your Research and Data analysis’ tab. Please gather a minimum of 10 survey responses per student in your group (e.g. if you are 6 students you should collect 60 responses). The data collected forms the basis of your final assessment.
