Regional Planning report on Dubai 2020

One of the best ways to understand regional planning is by studying a plan, so you will research and write a report on a planning document listed below. Post

which plan you are reporting on in the "Regional Plan Report Choice" discussion topic. Please note, the plan selection is first come first serve and no more

than two students to the same city.

The report must be a minimum of 10 pages of text (reference page doesn't count, nor does a cover page). Answer and explore the following questions:

How is the region defined in the plan? Include a brief history, the number of governments in the region, area size, population demographics such as gender

break down, age ranges, education, income, and employment. Consider the geography and things such as: is it in a desert and prone to droughts or dust storms?

Is it in the forest and prone to fires or mudslides? By the coast and sea-level rise is a concern?
A map is okay to embed here, but it cannot be the size of a page.
Who (Metropolitan Planning Organization, Council Of Governments, cooperating municipalities, nonprofit group, grassroots organization, etc.) created the

regional plan, and how was it produced (through public hearings, open houses, etc.)? Were multiple parties involved in crafting the document?
What specific regional issues does the plan discuss? How does the plan address them? How is success measured? Does it effectively address the issues? Use what

you've learned in the course to critique what they are doing.
You may want to look for: addressing climate change, social justice, environmental justice, and economic development. This list isn't exhaustive, and there

are many more issues you can analyze.
