Research hypotheses, sampling, and data collection

In a 4-page write-up, state your research hypotheses related to your topic that you can investigate empirically.
Penalty (-1 pt): Missing informative title:
Clearly stated topic and research questions (2 pt): Begin with the statement of your research topic and state
your research question(s).
Quality of hypotheses (2.0 pts): Formulate your research hypothesis or hypotheses to test your RQ. Your
hypotheses must be clear and to the point. You may state up to three hypotheses. Your research hypotheses
must reflect the literature you have reviewed.
Control variable (1pt): Identify and operationalize control variable(s). Clearly explain rationale or evidence
behind your choice.
Measurement and operationalization (2.0 pts): Identify and operationalize the independent variable (IV),
dependent variable (DV), and control variables. Clearly explain how your main variables will be measured.
Sampling methods (1pt): Inform yourself about suitable sampling methods and data collection using existing
literature. Explain your target population. Provide clear reasoning for your sampling method by identifying
specific sampling methods. For example, simply stating “a random sampling” or “representative sampling” will
not suffice. If you are not using a sample, justify why you do not need to select a sample. Make sure you
specify your sample size.
Data collection method and/ or data source (2pt): Explain how your data will be collected. If you are using
existing data, identify your data source. Identify data collection methods or data sources. For instance, if you
are using survey, what is the mode of survey distribution and structure? Your data collection method must be
feasible.
