Retail operations struggle for various reasons. Although, much of it relates to retailers not being able to identify the changing consumer trends and needs.
In this task, the purpose of this assignment is to do some research and write a short paper on the chosen
retailer on why it has ‘failed’. In ONE page, be sure to address the three elements listed below. There are no
restrictions on the size of font/spacing/margins/etc. However, it must not exceed the one-page limit.
1) Discuss the retailer’s value proposition. What value did this retailer initially provide to the market?
2) Discuss why it may have failed (failure can be due to various reasons, but pay particular attention to the issues that we have covered in class)
3) Devise a new retailer strategy. If you were to revive the brand for today, how would you alter their retail strategy? It is important that you discuss this in the context of our course material.
