Rhetorical Analysis of the book; Lies My Mother Never Told Me

Description

(1st paragraph) Text: To the best of your ability, using the third person voice, objectively and empirically describe and summarize the text in as much depth and details as you possibly can. What happens in the beginning, middle, and at the end of the text? What are the most important highlights of this text? This section should contain only the facts of what happens in the text and should not include any of your own opinions, attitudes, or views of the text (save those for your "Reader" section). No reasonable person should be able to object to, or disagree with, any of the facts presented in this summary/description section. Keep in mind, as we have discussed, you will not be to include everything presented in the text, however, it is your job as a writer to establish your authority as a reader and writer by providing your audience with an accurate overall description and summary of the most significant events in the text.
(2nd paragraph) Context: In this section, you will outline and define the genre, themes, key concepts, main ideas, and implied audience or reader of the text you are analyzing. What is the subject of the text? What are the most frequently reoccurring words, phrases, or images? What ideas are implicit in the facts or actions you described in your "Text" section (above)? What other texts does this text remind you of? Who is the ideal reader or audience of this text and what do they care about? Be sure to define and specify any general, vague, or abstract terms.
(3rd paragraph) "I," Author Creator: Describe and characterize the author or creator of the text you are analyzing. What sorts of things does this author care about? Who is this author and what are they doing here? What is this author interested in and what are they doing about it? What is this author's rhetorical purpose, why did they write this text? What is this author like? What is the author's tone, stance, attitude, or style?
