For this essay, your assignment is to choose one of the political advertisements from the list linked on our Content page and consider the rhetorical strategies it employs by crafting a thesis-driven analysis that provides an in-depth look at the argument your chosen advertisement makes. You should strive to demonstrate for your readers how the rhetorical moves are used to achieve their desired effects, and how successfully those effects are achieved.Once you have chosen an advertisement to analyze, you should perform a brief summary (no more than half a page). Once you have summarized, begin to analyze the context of the argument the advertisement is making. Make sure to consider the rhetorical situation. You also need to identify the intended audience and the rhetorical moves made in the advertisement in order to make it persuasive to that audience.
