School Nursing Role
Savannah is a 10-year-old female currently in Grade 4 at her local primary school. Savannah
is described as a good student by her teachers. She lives with her parents, Hamish and
Madeline. Madeline has Indigenous heritage and feels that it is important the Savannah is
aware of cultural traditions, however would like her to attend the local school where this is
not a focus of the curriculum.
During your conversation with Madeline, she asks you to describe your role as school nurse
and what you can offer the family.
