Your task in the final paper is to assess your personal strengths and weaknesses as a negotiator, record key lessons from the class material and exercises,
and suggest avenues for improvement. Please be as succinct as possible; although the word limit is 2000, a quality paper could use as few as 1500 words. A
good document will be something you can go back to after you leave Rotman, to remind yourself of the most important lessons you took away from the
course.
Please answer the following two questions in your final paper. For both questions, please reference specific negotiation exercises and/or discussions we had
this term.
Question 1: What are your 1-2 strengths and 1-2 weaknesses as a negotiator, how did you come to realize these were your strengths and weaknesses, and
how did they affect the process and outcomes of the negotiations we did this term? Choose a few specific negotiation exercises to illustrate and analyze
your strengths and weaknesses. Do not try to cover every exercise we’ve done.
Question 2: Using course concepts, carefully analyze one or more negotiations that you completed this term. For most of you, this will mean negotiation
exercise(s) done in class (choose approximately 1-3 exercises, do not try to cover all of them); however, if you wish, you may also analyze a negotiation that
you conducted outside of class. What 2-3 lessons do you draw from those negotiation(s)? How will those lessons change the
way you negotiate in the future?
