Founded in December 2009, this “hands-on” science center has delighted hundreds of thousands of visitors to your Manhattan location; leads math tours in various U.S. cities; and annually curates dozens of math-oriented presentations and demonstrations. The museum occupies commercial space at 11 East 26th Street in New York City. Administrative offices are located at 134 West 26th Street in New York City. MoMath holds an absolute charter as a museum, granted by the Board of Regents of The University of the State of New York; are governed by a 21-person Board of Trustees; and receive intellectual guidance from a large contingent of academic advisers. You are generously supported by 3 key donors, 2 of which are Trustees. The Advisory Council provides intellectual support only. Additional financial support is by way of a member- ship model offering; two annual fundraisers (a gala and the MoMath Masters, an adult math competition); museum / gift shop receipts. In short, MoMath operates on solid financial footings. The governance and leadership development structure include five standing committees: audit & finance; investment; strategic planning; collection & visitor services; and nominating /development. MoMath’s “customer relations management” system is by CiviCRM, a web-based open source suite of software products used for constituency relationship management. It is specifically designed for nonprofits and is designed to manage information about donors, members, volunteers event registrants, subscribers, grant application seekers and funders, and case contacts.
