Snapple initiatives

Description

Please read the Snapple case carefully. Provide your answers/recommendations for the following problems:

  1. In the period of 1972 to 1993, why Snapple flourished when so many start-up premium fruit drinks stayed small or disappeared? Explore each of the four Ps as you decide where to give credit.
  2. Now look at the period from 1994 to 1997. Did Quaker make an error in buying Snapple or did they manage it poorly? What can Triarc's managers learn from Quaker's experience?
  3. Is the Snapple target market "anyone with lips?" Is it Ok that Snapple "ends up meaning lots of different things to lots of different people?" And what does it mean to say that Snapple is a fashion brand?
  4. Identify three high priority initiatives you would start tomorrow if you were in Mike Weinstein's shoes.
    • Case analysis: two pages maximum of text. Your case write-up should contain the three parts: (1) overarching problem(s), (2) root causes of the overarching problem or bases for evaluation of solutions, and (3) main recommendations, but you should elaborate them in a more detailed way and emphasize your deep analyses of root causes and rationale behind your recommendation. The title page and appendices do not count toward this 2-page limit.
