Students will examine ethical practice frameworks and how social workers begin to apply theoretical frameworks to their practice contexts. Students will engage in reflective practice to build professional social work identity and professional behaviour. Students will examine their own learning styles and reporting and supervision practices in social work contexts. Course Objectives On completion of this course, students should be able to: CO1. Critique the use of the purpose, roles, functions and tasks and their application in social work practice settings CO2. Develop a comprehensive theoretical framework that incorporates all areas of social work knowledge CO3. Demonstrate a knowledge of the concepts of supervision as it facilitates the professional development of social workers CO4. Analyse the rights and responsibilities of all parties in the practice setting including self, supervisor, colleagues, clients, agency and community CO5. Prepare students for placement, behaving professionally and writing professional documents
