Please don't go too deeply into the lyrics. If there's an overall hidden meaning, provide it, but don't pull the lyrics apart too much. Please focus on the musical elements.
At the end of your paper, feel free to provide any charts or visuals you've created.
Please submit your paper by uploading a file in the discussion below so your fellow students can read your paper. In addition, you need your fellow students to be able to hear your song, so you must show them how to access it. I suggest directing students to a high-quality-sound YouTube video, or you can upload a file from your computer. You can drag mp3s directly from iTunes onto your Desktop and then upload them that way.
In addition to submitting your paper and audio, you must read and provide feedback to one other student's analysis paper (due the following week). The goal of the feedback is to provide observations or praises as to what you think was done well with the analysis, or perhaps to describe what aspects you found most interesting. It's not meant to be a critique, but you're allowed to ask questions if you wish. You must reply if a student asks you questions about your paper. I expect your responses to other student papers to be about 500 words.
Make sure to analyze a student's paper that has not yet been critiqued by someone else. In order to avoid people accidentally reviewing a paper twice, comment on a student's post the instant you decide to start working on it so other students can see that the paper has been claimed. After that initial post, take your time to write your response to the fellow student and post your full reply afterwards.
