Baldwin's story:
-Using facts from the Biography Video and two other videos, show how Baldwin's life impacts or is show in "Sonny's Blues."

New York's story
-Refer both of Whitman's poems and the Ian Frazier article from "The New Yorker" to make your points.
-Use six references from (like 2 from each reading) to show how New York is depicted in other work relating to "Sonny's Blues."

Composition:

  • Include your thesis in the first paragraph.
  • Present each new subtopic in its own paragraph.
  • Include analysis with each piece of evidence (reference) to show why it is relevant and how it relates to another piece of evidence.
  • Each piece of evidence must support your thesis.
  • The conclusion must show how all the evidence and analysis ties to the thesis, without listing every fact.

Paper Length and Grammar
-Length: 3,000 words excluding the Works cited page.
-Grammar and spelling count; avoid cliches, run-on sentences, fragments, and punctuation errors.

Citations
-Include short inline references for all evidence.
-Include all long-form citations in the Works Cited at the end of the paper.
