St. Pauls in Roman and Galatians

  Description     You are a student of politics and you are tying to understand the influence of Christian ideas/theology on history and contemporary politics. Your task is a) to read St. Paul in Romans 1,7,8,13 and Galatians 1,2,3 ; b) identify the main points of St. Paul's view of history/philosophy, c) pin down the discussion he makes on the Law (the question of following the old, Hebrew Law) and the Spirit (the question of faith in Jesus and his teachings); d) bring together the aspects found in the texts that you think are important for understanding contemporary politics and explain why is that so.
