For this assignment, you will watch someone who is a professional streamer-- like Ninja, for example. You will write up an analysis that answers the following 5 questions:
What’s the audience and how does the caster appeal to/create for that audience?
Does this cast cater to hardcore fans or do you see ways in which there is an attempt to help people who don’t understand the game follow the action? Why?
Think about production value. The difference between being just another caster and being someone special is often in the small things (like having nice overlays, quality camera work, etc.)
How does the caster involve the audience directly in the cast?
Why is the caster popular? You should be able to determine this from watching, but you can also do some external research. Casters build followings in multiple ways. How’d this one do it?
