Strengthening National Preparedness and Resilience

Background

Preventing terrorism and enhancing the security of our borders is the number one priority of the Department of Homeland Security. It was found an inevitable task to do so after the 9/11 attacks. Our government created, and continues to create, a multitude of ways to strengthen national preparedness and resilience. Due to past mistakes of failing to act upon the receiving end of intelligence, our government is attempting to do better. There are now multiple agencies responsible for intelligence relating to the security of our homeland. Making sure that it remains as strong as it can be is not an easy feat. There are still many new infrastructures that must be put into place to make sure nothing falls through the cracks. Many different types of terrorism have come to light since the attacks on 9/11. It is paramount that the Department of Homeland Security does everything in it’s power to make sure the agencies are prepared and resilient. Our government must take the necessary to secure our nation and its citizens.
