summarize this interview .

• How did you decide on your career path?

With a degree in Finance, I had a goal of working in the airline industry. When hired by FedEx as a Sales Representative after graduation, my career in Supply

Chain began.

• How long it took you to secure a job once you graduated?

Just 3 months between my graduation and my actual start date. I was interviewing relentlessly my senior year through acceptance of my position with FedEx

around July of the summer following my graduation.

• Did you work any internships before you graduated?

During my sophomore year, I was a Congressional intern and then sought worked several paid positions in my field prior to graduation, both of which were sales

and finance related.

• What set you apart from the rest of the people who were interviewed?

I firmly believe attitude and aptitude are more important than knowledge. Now having conducted interviews and hired over a hundred times during my career, I

believe that more than ever. With a positive, eager attitude and a clear aptitude and willingness to learn new things, knowledge can be taught. Attitude and

aptitude cannot be taught.

• What are some of the key skills to be successful in your field?

Communication, problem solving/math, emotional intelligence, organization, macro and microeconomics, IT concepts, sociology and psychology.

• Can you tell me more about the day-to-day responsibilities of this job?

From a sales and sales leadership perspective, my day to day revolves around acquiring and retaining customers. This requires a team to consistently prospect,

contact and move customers through the sales process. All of which require a consistent hand in hand effort with operations teams to ensure service metrics

are reasonable and maintained. Errors and unforeseen variables are inevitable in supply chain, but how we identify root causes and implement solutions are

what set you apart from your competitors.
