Technology issues in school library centers

Using at least two APU online databases find three journal articles published within the last 24 months (two years) from at least two different journals that are at least two to three pages long and address technology issues in school library media centers (school libraries).

Points will be taken off if you use only one APU database or none. The professor checks the articles you've chosen, to verify they are indeed in one or more APU databases. Part of this assignment is testing if you are able to use APU’s library databases.

Week 1's lecture and video (How to Find Peer-Reviewed Full-Text Articles (Links to an external site.)) explained how to access APU's databases and find relevant articles.

Tip: it's strongly suggested you use the underlined words ("school libraries" - putting words in quotation marks will provide better results - and technology) as your search string (search string = the string of words or terms one types in a database search box or boxes to retrieve useful results). The following databases are suggested:

1) Academic Search Premier

2) ProQuest Databases

3) Library, Info. Science & Tech. abstracts.

Also, if you find an article that is not full text in one database, use Full-Text Finder to find if the article is full text in another APU database. There were more instructions and useful tips in Week 1's lecture on how to access and use APU databases. The goal is to help you find three appropriate journal articles.

Write a one-page, double-spaced (including the citations) entry for each journal article with the following:

At the top of each entry compose the citation for each article using correct APA or MLA style (choose one)
A summary for each article (roughly ½ the page)
Your reaction to the main point/s of each article (roughly ½ the page, 2 or 3 sentences will not do).
To view an example of what the professor is expecting in regards to the citation for MLA style, go to Purdue Online Writing Lab MLA Formatting And Style Guide (Links to an external site.)and scroll down to "An Article from an Online Database (or Other Electronic Subscription Service)” or you could obtain a copy of the current Modern Language Association of America. MLA handbook for writers of research papers. Modern Language Association of America, 2010, 8th edition.

For an APA style example, go to Purdue Online Writing Lab APA Formatting and Style Guide (Links to an external site.) and scroll down to "Article From an Online Periodical with DOI Assigned." If your article has no DOI, then use the next category "Article From an Online Periodical with no DOI Assigned." You could also obtain a print copy of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association, 6th edition (2020). APA does have a 7th edition (2020); but for this assignment (and for this class) it is preferred if you use the 6th edition.

Each of the three summaries is worth 25 points (75 points total). All three citations written correctly (as a whole) are worth a total of 25 points. Points will be taken off for not following the MLA or APA style or any part of these instructions.
