The Blended Theory

1) Complete the following questions at the end of chapters 13 and 14: For Chapter 13: #1, #3, and #7. (For #7, you do not have to create a test). For chapter 14: #1, #3, and #6. Even though some of these are multiple choice answers, you still have to provide the rationale as to WHY it's the correct answer.
2) Read the Blended Theory of Learning that I provided in this learning module. As a review of this course and all the theories of learning discussed, what are
your thoughts about this blended idea. You may also use ideas from your own "Theory of Learning" to share with your post.
3) Watch the video about Standardized Testing and critically analyze your thoughts. You must incoroporate an outside reference or two to support your
opinion.
4) Chapter 13 discusses different assessments. As a teacher, you will use many assessments with your students. Please define each of the following and
give one example for each. I also want you to choose one of the assessments and further elaborate by using additional resources about the pros and cons of
that assessment. Formative assessment, summative assessment, standardized assessment, benchmark assessment, alternative assessment, project-based
assessment.
5) Watch the video about Students and grades. Also, read the section, "How Are Grades Determined" on pages 372-379. Respond to the following questions:
You must support your answer with additional resources.
a) What does a 75% really mean?
b) Is the traditional A, B,C, D, F system still relevant? Why or why not?
c) Why do students think grades are more important than the content?
d) Describe an assignment you can provide to your students that you can accurately assess the students' knowledge without providing a letter or number
grade.
