The Written Exercise Assignment for this Module covers the case of Jack the Ripper as it relates to
medicolegal death investigation. Using the Saint Leo Library Database and resources found on the reference
page (located in Doc Sharing under Content in this course), answer the following questions:
How do you feel that this case impacted the field of death investigation?
What differences do you see in the techniques employed in the year 1888 and present day death
investigation?
In your opinion, if the Ripper were active today, would modern death investigation techniques, modern
forensics, and medicolegal advancements of recent years have resulted in his arrest and conviction? Your
paper should go beyond the obvious, be written at a graduate level, and must be at least 1,200 words in length.
You must use at least three resources to support your position. Remember, all resources including, but not
limited to, journals, magazine, and/or books must be properly cited using APA style. One of your credible
references must include your Spitz and Diaz textbook. This is a requirement for each written exercise. Each
assignment is required to be scholarly written and must follow the current American Psychological
Association (APA) format and style include the following: cover page, abstract (including key words), a
minimum of three (3) discussion areas/topics, a conclusion, and a reference page. Wikipedia and Murderpedia
