The Environment and the Economy

An ethical dilemma, how the economy is affecting the environment. "Mainstream economics has never been more influential, and this threatens the future of nature and humanity. While efforts have been made to supplement or modify economics to make it less brutal or less environmentally blind, here it is suggested that economics is so fundamentally flawed and that it so completely dominates the culture of late modern capitalism (or postmodernity). Inevitably, the influence is most apparent in the emergence of a recognition that the environment and the economy are inseparable and how the economy ultimately is affecting our environment. You will argue that philosophy, and ethics, are crucial to overcoming this ethical dilemma and how."
