The Epic of Gilgamesh

In chapter 4 we reviewed The Epic of Gilgamesh, and in chapter 5, Genesis from the Hebrew Bible. Both ancient literary works are included in your textbook, The Compact Anthology of World Literature, Part 1. Each of these ancient manuscripts conveys a great flood narrative with some similarities and differences. Read and compare both accounts and compose a 500 to 1,000- word comparative literary analysis outlining the similarities and differences between the two tales and provide insight as to how and why these two similar stories co-exist in ancient literature. Cite the two primary sources, and, in addition, reference at least one secondary source that offers scholarly analysis of the topic.
