The First European Revolution

We started this book by talking about the differences between reading a monograph and reading a textbook. One of the most important differences is that a monograph such as The First European Revolution has a thesis, and supports that thesis through argumentation and evidence. This assignment asks you to demonstrate that you understand the thesis, as well as the arguments that support it. To do this, your task is to produce a reading guide for The First European Revolution. You should imagine that you are writing this for a fellow student. The Reading Guide that you produce should contain the following elements:Book Summary In a short essay of approximately 300-500 words, summarize the book. What is the thesis? How does Moore support that thesis? What are the smaller arguments that he makes? What are the predominant and/or recurring themes? Chapter Summaries Summarize each chapter in approximately 150 words.
Provide 2 key quotes from each chapter, along with a brief explanation of how that quote illustrates the material in the chapter summary and/or book summary you have written. Write one review question for each chapter. This question should help the reader understand the chapter as a whole, or an important element of it. Think of this as a question you would ask if you were leading a discussion of a chapter. Review questions Write 3 questions that someone reading the book should be able to answer after finishing it. These questions should be broad and relate to the themes of the book that you described in the Book Summary. The paper should be 1375 words long.
