Scenario:
You are a member of a task force created by the Pennsylvania governor to modernize the state’s
criminal justice system.* Specifically, you have been asked to write a report examining how the
use of statistics and data analysis will change the way that criminal justice is done over the next
twenty years. Your report should be 4 to 6 pages long (1,000 – 1,500 words). Because the
governor wants more than just your personal guesses, you should cite at least 5 sources to
support your argument. However, the paper should be your own argument/prediction (with
supporting evidence) and not simply a source-by-source summary of others’ work. Submit your
report to the dropbox on the course website. The grading rubric for this paper is also available on
the course website. Late papers will be accepted for one week after the due date with a 15%
deduction.
