The position of a hydroxyl group in an alcohol

How does the position of a hydroxyl group in an alcohol effect the enthalpy of combustion?
With this research question, you should use alcohols of 3 or more carbons. (For example propanol, butanol,
and pentanol). Then look up heats of combustion for the alcoholic isomers of each. I.e. look up heat of
combustion for propan-1-ol and propan-2-ol. look up heat of combustion for butan-1-ol and butan-2-ol, look up
heat of combustion for pentan-1-ol, pentan-2-ol, and pentan-3-ol. Then compare to see if the position of the OH
makes a difference. YOU can't compare the chain lengths. That is an IB exemplar IA and will be marked down.
