Sample Solution
The Proclamation Act of 1763 was an attempt by the British Parliament to control colonial expansion and land settlement in North America. It established boundaries that colonists were not allowed to cross, which caused outrage among many settlers who had already been granted land rights beyond these lines. This act also negated any agreements made between Native American nations and European settlers, as well as restricting trading activities with the indigenous peoples. The effect of this act was a direct affront to colonialism and it drastically limited the autonomy of settlers on the continent.
