The Separation movie

Write two analytical film reviews. The first of these is based on the documentary The Square. It will be due in class on Thursday, October 18. In these papers, students will analyze the film/documentary by drawing at least one key theoretical/ analytical issue or framework discussed in class readings. The paper will be short (3-5 pages in length, double-spaced, 1-inch margins). Students must include an additional page of references and citations. Students are welcome (note: not required) to draw on outside sources as long as these are properly cited. Students will bring a printed and stapled hard copy to class on the date papers are due. Each paper is worth 10% of your course grade. The paper should reflect that the student watched the film/documentary carefully, absorbed the key themes, and was able to link the film critically and successfully to the class readings. Remember that this paper is your reaction to the film and class readings. It is not a summary of either, and may include some of the following:- What, according to you, are the most important conclusions and how do these relate to what we have teamed in the class?• What concepts are the most helpful in analyzing the social issues raised in the film?• How can the film be connected with topics, readings, and regions from the course?• How can your film review help critique or revise something we have learned in the readings? These are just some suggestions. Remember: there are no right or wrong responses. This is your chance to engage with the film in tandem with the class readings. I am including a grading rubric for your papers. .Content (7points)• Does the paper have a central idea/argument that can be expressed in one or two simple sentences?. Does the writer adequately discuss the class readings based on the guidelines/suggestions above?- Does the writer contribute his or her own arguments to the paper?
