Theories of Personality - Case Study

I will need an in-depth case study on the character of Melvin Udall from the classic film "As Good As It Gets." The goal of the case study will be to analyze
Melvin to show an understanding of the theories, concepts, and research related to personality from the following textbook: "The Personality Puzzle – 7th Ed.
David C Funder (University of California, Riverside) 2016." I have attached a pdf of the textbook below. The goal of this case study is to analyze Melvin's
personality from various perspectives. For example, Who is Melvin? What were some factors that impacted Melvin's personality? How would you describe
him from a psychoanalytic perspective and why? How would you describe him from another perspective and why? What are some ways in which Melvin
demonstrates the tenets of a perspective? I will need the case study to talk about Melvin's OCD and the obsessive rituals he does to combat his anxious
thoughts, such as wearing gloves, using plastic silverware, locking the door numerous times, and not stepping on cracks in the sidewalk. Even more
important than his OCD, I will need a large focus to be on his misanthropic personality as he attempts to control his condition for a chance at a relationship
with a waitress at his favorite diner, but he is rude, arrogant, and entitled. His misanthropic personality, which seems exempt from social graces, is
compromised of inappropriate emotional responses and forces him to avoid social situations, which is accurately indicative of a number of personality
disorders, including narcissistic personality disorder. I will need this focus on his narcissistic personality to be in-depth and shown through numerous
examples. Lastly, I will need references with in-text citations to be used for any sourced information throughout the case study. If you have any questions,
please do not hesitate to message me. Thank you so much!!
