Thoughts on a play called Oleanna

Description

Write a 3 page (750 words) analytical essay on your experience of seeing the play Oleanna. The purpose of this essay is NOT to analyze the play, theme, venue, actors, performances, costumes,
set, or the art of the production, but to analyze your experience of any or all of those things. Your experience is personal and is to be supported by your argument. Be careful not to make any claims that you do not plan to support. Do not make unsubstantiated statements on what makes a good play, good acting, etc.; and you are not asked to cite references. Instead, you are to support your claim, the claim of your experience, justifying it with evidence. Remember: “A good
argument makes claims supported by evidence.” This is what makes this an analytical essay:
• Introduction:
o Included the title and author of the play, where it was held, and when you saw it.
The title of the play must be italicized.
o Include a strong personally reflective thesis statement of your experience.
• Body of essay:
o Use topic sentences which state-specific feelings or items that contributed to your thesis statement – one topic sentence per paragraph.
o Using the body of each paragraph, cite examples that clearly and fully demonstrate your topic statement. Explain clearly the relationship between the example, your topic statement, and your thesis.
• Conclusion:
o Do not summarize your thesis or proof. Use your conclusion to make a leap of personal thought.
