Tourism

  Tourism are Chinese characters like dialectic montage? (How about in the realm of controlling meaning -- that is, the final synthesis stage?) Do you think dialectic montage has potential outside of a propagandistic film genre? -- What effects do movements like Chinoiserie and Japonisme have outside of the immediate art field? (Do they?) Do they exoticize or render the exotic more everyday? (Both?) There were some great contemporary analogies raised in class; can you think of other examples?
