Truths About Ability and Accomplishment
After reading the third chapter in Mindset: The New Psychology of Success – Truths About Ability and
Accomplishment, pick one of the following to respond to (no more than 250 – 500 words, typed, double-spaced).
1. Own Your Education: Describe how you “own your education.” What tactics do you use when you are struggling
with a topic/subject? How do you overcome a subject that bores you? Or when you have an instructor you don’t like
or don’t understand?
2. Natural Ability: Explain a time you thought you could not do something and were taught a process in which you
were capable of succeeding in that very task.
3. Dream: Describe something you have longed to have the ability to do or do better (paint, memorize, read, play an
instrument or sport, etc.).
a. Explain what you believe is getting in your way from achieving this?
b. Develop a manageable plan on how you can accomplish this.
