Understanding the sense of community

You will use the articles we reviewed as part of our annotated bibliographies (not including the one on parachutes) as the basis of your introduction. You will be framing this study around the “but…why?” question of either:

“How successful community college students do feel about their academic journey?” (defining success)

OR

“How important a sense of community is to community college students?” (defining sense of community)

I am open to you proposing alternate outcome variables on a case by case basis. This must be done well before any upcoming deadlines

Do not get too hung up on how I worded the questions above and more on choosing success vs. sense of community. There are many ways you can frame these questions. For example, you could be asking how important sense of community is to students, you could ask how successful students already feel, how successful they feel they will be with their overall goal, how often they feel successful, how often they feel like they have a sense of community, etc.

While creating your Introduction I will also have you create the framework for the rest of your final paper as an “APA shell”. This will help you insert the different parts of the paper in the correct places as you finish them throughout the semester.
