Urban field trip

Good People,
Your next trip must take place in an urban location. You will be conducting a walking audit. I have uploaded
a walking audit for downtown Fort Myers. First, complete the audit (document visually) as best as you can (fill
in details for as many of the questions as possible). I'm aware that several of you are located outside of the
state and in other cities. Please make adjustments to the walking audit in a way that allows you to explore
the same concepts in another city. I have also included a link (see below) to a PowerPoint on aspects that you
must think of when developing an urban space. Please look through the slideshow before you conduct your
walking audit. After you complete the audit (please upload walking audit) and document your journey visually (5
photo minimum or short video) submit a 250 word (minimum) reflection and description of the findings of your
walking audit. Examples of components that students should include in their reflection: health & recreation,
transportation, social, safety, environment, and natural resources. Don't forget to include a completed walking
audit of the urban space you explore.

Additional details and steps that students need to go through to complete the assignment.
First, conduct the walking audit and fill out the form as best as you can. That will fluctuate depending on where
you conduct the audit. As you do the audit, be sure to take pictures of the components/themes that you think
are important (i.e. park, green space, LEED building, solar trees, etc.). After you complete the walking audit,
analyze the results that you accumulated and then you will complete the reflection/description (250-word
minimum) of your results.
Complete the audit take pictures during the audio submit audit, pictures and reflection/description (250 word
minimum) of your results Assignment completed
VIRTUAL OPTION:
There are several virtual cities walking tours from around the world available on youtube ( I linked a few below).
You can explore any city that you can find a virtual walking tour video (minimum of 45 minutes) and then
complete the assignment detailed above, but replace the physical walking audit (i.e. walking in downtown Fort
Myers) with a virtual audit.
