Early American Architecture
Essay II Requirements:

This is a discussion essay only – you are NOT to have any citations, references, footnotes, or bibliography. Essay II Statement and Question:
There are a number of very important architectural styles in America before 1850, especially relevant to architecture in the North or in the South (remember, there is nothing in the West). For this essay, you are to discuss the differences in architecture between the American Georgian style (Colonial), the Federal style (post-Revolutionary War), and the Romantic style (the Greek Revival style).
Briefly discuss each of these architectural styles and name one of their pivotal architects, buildings [not in italics], with the date. In your concluding paragraph, you should state why these building styles are so important in their period during American Art History.
