Use of deadly force by police

Locate an incident involving the use of deadly force by the police ; most suitably in print medium. Either from the New York Times, Washington Post, U.S News, Los Angeles Times, Atlanta Constitution, etc. but not YouTube and the like. (a) Summarize the information. What took place, and what was the police responce? (b) Ascertain if the use of deadly force could or could not be defended ; was it justified or was there a breakdown of policy/ procedure ( look it up and quote it) or did other factors come into play, such as training (or lack thereof), judgment calls and mistakes (identity, etc.), quotas, bad cops, a code of the police-sheriffs, evidence of "clear and present danger" or just plain everyday racism; or abuse of power? Etc'. Argue your point, and try to remain objective. Do not let passion overshadow.
