Vaccines

In class this week we will be talking about the role vaccinating children against various diseases can have on the transmission and impact of diseases. Many parents are uneasy regarding having their children vaccinated and thus chose to delay or not have their child vaccinated for a number of reasons. I have provided some resources below to give you some back ground in this area but you are free to also seek out your own sources. Consider the questions posed below and write a minimum 250-word blog entry discussing this issue and answer the following questions. You can also comment (250 words min) on others comments.

  1. Why don’t parents vaccinate and what impact does it have?
  2. What would you tell parents who are concerned about vaccinating their child?
  3. Should parents have a choice as to whether to vaccinate their child or not?

See the directions provided on cuLearn regarding what your entry should entail.

I look forward to reading your thoughts and comments on this controversial issue.
