Description
For this assignment, you will create a work of art and accompanying explanation that attempts to answer the question "What is philosophy?"
You can be creative in how you do this. Two possibilities are provided below, but you can do an original piece of visual art, a song, a video, whatever! I am happy to listen to ideas and provide feedback.
Regardless of what medium you choose, your work must have three things:
A 1 page explanation of how your work answers the "What is philosophy" question
Reference at least two of the assigned readings so far. This can be done directly in the work of art or in the explanation provided in #1.
Evidence that you've taken the assignment seriously, but have also been creative and had fun with it.
Two examples are:
A "philosophy mixtape". Choose 6-8 songs that, in a variety of ways, speak to the question "what is a philosophy". Compile these into a playlist. Provide a link to the playlist (or the individual videos if you use YouTube). Provide a paragraph or so explanation of how each song is "philosophical".
A photo essay. Similar to the mixtape, except you choose 6-8 photos. Compile these into a document or Powerpoint presentation, with a paragraph or so explanation of each one.
