What's there to eat?

Description

Using the techniques described in chapters 1-7 and 15, write a paper in which you identify the argument an author makes and respond to that argument. Do you agree with author or not? Why?

For this assignment, choose one of the essays from Chapter 18 in the textbook: “Are we in a race against the machine?” OR from Chapter 20: “What’s there to eat?”

Your response to the argument should be detailed and clear, and you MUST choose a side – either you agree or disagree with the author. You cannot argue both sides.

In an effective response to a text, you need to identify the author’s main argument and look at the specific ways in which he/she supports the argument throughout the essay.

Then, you need to explain, in detail, why the author was correct or incorrect. In doing so, you should give examples that show HOW the author built an argument by using examples, statistics, stories or other evidence as support, and explain why those examples were successful or not in building an effective argument.
