Take a position on one of the following issues, but choose an issue other than the one you wrote on for the first/second mid-length essay. (A few new ones have been added)
First, explain the issue clearly.
Second, explain your position on that issue clearly.
Third, argue thoroughly for your position.
Fourth, explain at least one objection to your position/argument. If you have a difficult time coming up with one, you can either do research or talk to me, and I can give you an objection.
Fifth, respond to that objection in order to defend your position.
You need to make sure you explain your reasons and your reasoning, and provide examples where applicable, and explain the examples and their point. (Must be at least 800 words)
If there is a topic/issue that you would like to write on that is not listed here, you may do so. Please just talk to me and clear it with me beforehand.
- Whether or not free will is possible if God exists, knows everything, including the future, and is infallible.
- Whether or not factory farming should be outlawed
- Whether or not advocating for tolerance and free speech implies the tolerance of intolerance and hate speech.
- Whether or not everyone should be required to go to college;
- Whether or not college should be made free of tuition to all students
- Whether or not evolutionary theory and creationism are inconsistent with each other.
- Whether or not it is wrong to kill and use other animals for food, clothing, etc.
- Whether or not the existence of evil in the world implies that God does not exist.
